Charlotte GFAFEvent Free Webcast 2017 - 10th Anniversary Special

It is so hard to believe that we have been planning and executing the Charlotte Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event for almost a decade now! Hard as it is to believe, we are right around the corner from the big date. This means that it will have been 10 years since our daughter Erin's (aka Doodle) diagnosis of celiac disease. We started the events right after as a way for her to feel normal and get to try all of the goodies she had been missing. Luckily, we also got to share the experience with thousands of people through the years.

We hope you will join us March 18th at Oasis Shriner Auditorium from 10 am - 4 pm for the Charlotte Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event. Below is a free webcast before the event to give you a preview of speakers that will be presenting. As usual, it is a star studded cast of who is who in the gluten and allergen free world local to Charlotte.

We had a tiny bit of technical difficulty, so please fast forward when playing the audio to 1:18 into the recording. Our apologies for the inconvenience

Jennifer Cuevas The Gluten & Grain Free Gourmet supports delicious eating that is gluten, grain, soy, and poultry free. Jen Cuevas experienced her own journey to wellness by eating this way, and desires to share the message that life can still be delicious! Just a few short years ago, Jen was ill with a multitude of issues (although not typical “Celiac” symptoms), including high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, sudden weight gain [over 60 pounds], Hashimoto’s, and arthritis (read more of her story here). After more than seven frustrating visits with various doctors, she finally learned about her gluten sensitivity and Celiac disease. In becoming well, she found that life without gluten was really great from a health perspective, but affected everything else that had a social factor. In the time since her diagnosis, Jen has spent a lot of time learning. She was treated by Dr. Glen Aukerman (author: Better Health in 120 days) and attended all of his classes to understand the medical aspect of how various foods affect gluten sensitivity. After further health issues inspired her to do more research, Jen went completely grain and soy free in 2012, and became a certified coach under the direction of Gluten Free Society. She uses her own health journey to coach and inspire others to consider dietary changes as a way to achieve optimum health. In 2013 she established a support group, and found that food availability continued to be the biggest barrier to success. She began developing food products that support a grain-free, soy-free and even dairy-free lifestyle; many items are allergy-friendly and are free of refined sugars. She also offers allergen-free Communion to churches, raising awareness about the effects of gluten exposure.

Her blog, ImaCeliac.com provides simple Gluten Free recipes, product reviews, and giveaways. Pam features their family weekly menu as a way to keep her family organized, on budget, and Gluten Free. Pam has written 5 cookbooks and lifestyle guides about living Gluten Free. Her last two books made Amazon Best Sellers list. Pam travels the US to speak to groups about living Gluten Free, menu planning, and how to cook simple Gluten Free recipes.

Marie Rubbinaccio Marie was raised in Queens, New York and developed her cooking skills in her mother/grandmother's kitchens, learning recipes passed down from the generations. But like so many people suffering from food allergies and sensitivities, good taste and family recipes became a challenge. Taking her own health issues seriously, she dedicated her career, as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, to helping people live a healthy life, and launched a mission to create deliciously indulgent recipes, free from ingredients like wheat-gluten-dairy-eggs-nuts-soy-corn, yet tasting so delicious, you will be in utter shock! Best of all, because the recipes are so delicious, you will be able to serve them to your families. Imagine, one meal, one great taste! Thus after long hours of substituting, changing and taste testing dishes, “Deliciously For You” was created. Marie is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. She holds a certification in Naturopathic Nutrition and Eating Psychology Coaching and is a member of the International Alliance of Holistic Therapists and International Association of NLP Coaching. Marie is currently writing her next cookbook creating “Deliciously For You” Desserts! www.marierubbinaccio.com Facebook: Health Coach Marie Rubbinaccio Instagram @healthcoachmarie
